West Coast Alt Fair 2023 Recap
Are you a high school student or parent exploring your options for postsecondary education? Are you curious about the many alternatives to traditional college education? Then, you don't want to miss out on the recap of the Alternative to College Fair held in March of 2023.
Hosted in Palo Alto, CA, on March 3rd and 4th, this year's fair was a huge success! On Friday, attendees had the chance to network with 20 professionals and 20 programs to learn more about each program. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with experts in the field and gain insight into the many non-traditional education options available.
But that was just the beginning! On Saturday, over 200 students and families attended the fair, where they had access to 40 programs aimed at supporting students to find postsecondary success. The programs ranged from community colleges to technical schools, transition programs, therapeutic options, gap year programs, and more! There was something for everyone, regardless of their goals and aspirations.
Created in 2015 by Shayna Abraham of Prepare to Bloom, the Alternative to College Fair is an excellent event for students and parents looking for alternatives to a traditional college education. I've been lucky to have co-hosted it with Shayna Abraham and Joanna Lilley of Lilley Consulting since the spring of 2022! Whether you're considering a gap year, a technical school, or any other non-traditional education path, this fair has something for you.
And if you missed the Palo Alto event, don't worry! Stay tuned for information about the east coast Alt Fair being hosted in New York City on September 22-23rd. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with experts in the field and explore your options for postsecondary success.
The Alternative to College Fair is a must-attend event for anyone interested in exploring non-traditional education options. You never know what opportunities may be waiting for you, so mark your calendars and get ready for an incredible experience!
